I loved everything about this session. The light. The girl. Her smile. The way she posed herself better than I ever could. She has an extremely bright and successful future ahead of her and I feel so blessed to have taken her senior photos.

Calling ALL Juniors…you are just about to enter into your Senior year!! Yes, I remember how exciting that is and how memorable your senior year is. I had my senior pictures taken at the mall, and 12 years ago, that was the cool thing to do. There just were not photographers back then like there are now! Even though, I knew what I wanted in my photos and I actually still like them (you should see the one of me in my boyfriend’s (now husband!) jacket! Classic!)

If you haven’t chosen the photographer for your senior pics yet, here’s some things to take into consideration:

1. Looking back 10 years from now, what would you like your pictures to say about you? What do you want to remember about your Senior year? How can you reflect that in your photos?

2. Right now, is there any location that means anything to you…the river, downtown, your school or your favorite coffee shop…any of those places can be an awesome spot to have your session. Don’t limit yourself when considering locations.

3. Look at the photos the photographer has taken, check out their “editing” style. Do you like the dramatic editing look (often called “over processed” but can definitely be overdone or really tastefully), do you prefer no editing at all, or something in the middle (where I tend to put my editing style at)?

4. Of course you’ll consider photographer fees and that is absolutely necessary. I just want to encourage you to not choose your photographer solely on what they charge. I’ll leave you with this…you get what you pay for. I definitely think that having a friend take your photos is better than not having any senior pics at all…but if you are looking for a photographer to hire, please choose wisely. There are so many options in the Sacramento area, you have the wonderful opportunity to choose the photographer who suites you best! The important thing is…get those photos taken!

Since I am a photographer and this is my blog…I’m throwing my hat into the ring to say consider choosing Amy Schuff Photography as your Senior photographer! I may have graduated 12 years ago, but I sure don’t feel like it! We’ll go to your favorite spot (or I’ll choose a place if you don’t know of any!) and we’ll have fun with the camera. If you’re not sure about taking photos or you feel uncomfortable behind the camera (like…what will I wear? will she make me look weird?), don’t worry about that! Your senior portraits are as important to me as they are to you. I 100% believe that. I promise to give you some amazing pics that 10 years from now you will still be proud of!!

So now I’ll share more of this poised, driven and respectful beauty who I met during the Pinkletoes workshop a couple months ago. She’s entering into her senior year and I wish her all the happiness and awesome grades in the world! If these photos speak to you and you would like more information on session prices, please use this contact form and I’ll get back to you right away! I have an insane deal going on for Senior pics right now but will only share it with the Juniors/Seniors that contact me!
